IS militants seize Syrian city of Tadmor

Homs (IINA) – The Islamic State (IS) militants have almost totally taken control over Tadmor, an ancient city of central Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The Observatory said that the destiny of the Syrian regime forces in al-Badiyi branch and the military prison of Tadmor is still unknown, amid information about preparing the regime forces to retreat towards the security centers.
Taking control over Tadmor came in the wake of violent clashes with the regime forces, where IS started its attacks against the city on May 13, seizing the two gas fields of al-Hil and al-Ark, located between the two cities of al-Sikhni and Tadomr, as well as the village of al- Aamiriyyi.
Violent clashes also took place between the regime forces and the Nusra Front, rebel and Islamic battalions in west of the city of Talbisah, information reported advancement for the regime forces.
