Tunisia's Air Force intercepts Libyan plane after penetrating its airspace

Tunis, (IINA) – An unidentified plane from Libya that entered the Tunisian national airspace on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. was intercepted by the Air Force and ordered to leave the national space, Tunisia News Press (TAP) reported.

Spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense Lieutenant Colonel Belhassen Oueslati said a plane without markings made an incursion 4 km into the Tunisian airspace. It was flying at 3000m above sea level and at a speed of 660 km/h.

“An Air Force fighter aircraft intercepted the unidentified plane and ordered it to leave the Tunisian airspace,” he said, adding that the Ministry of Defense will notify the Libyan authorities of these infringements through diplomatic channels.
