Dubai set to become global centre of hahal market



Dubai, (IINA) - The global value of the halal food market is expected to hit $10 trillion by 2030 with Dubai on track to position itself as the centre of global halal market, according to a report published by Harvard Business School (HBS) about Al Islami Foods, Trade Arabia business news reported.

The new case study was published by HBS about Al Islami Foods, a leading halal food company in the Middle East, analyzes the company’s journey towards a model halal organization under the light of Dubai’s ambitious Islamic economy initiative.

“We are delighted that reputed business institutes, such as Harvard Business School, are attracted by Dubai’s aim to convert into the global hub of Islamic economy,” said Saleh Abdullah Lootah, managing director of Al Islami Foods.

“It has been tradition of Al Islami to welcome universities and academics to examine the growth of Al Islami, the halal procedures applied across the organization and how Dubai is positioning itself as the centre of global halal market.”

Malaysia, whose population was more than 60 percent Muslim, exported nearly $10 billion worth of halal food products in 2013, making it the largest halal exporter in the world.
