Monday 16 Mar 2015 - 16:04 Makkah mean time-25-5-1436 Khartoum (IINA) – The Arab League revealed its intention to hold an African-Arab conference to address the humanitarian issues, which emerged from the war in the southern states of Sudan, saying that Sudanese government has agreed to the conference.
Arab League Representative in Sudan Salah Halima said that Khartoum has agreed to holding an Arab-African conference, aimed at addressing the humanitarian issues, emerging from the civil war in southern Sudan.
The Sudan had witnessed internal conflict in the southern region for 20 years, before signing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement of 2005, which ended the long civil war in the country and eventually led to the creation of South Sudan as an independent nation in 2011.
In a television program broadcast on Shorooq TV channel, Halima said, "The Arab League supports the Sudanese national dialogue and makes efforts and plays roles with various parties, including the High-Level African Mechanism, for the success of the dialogue”.
