"Scientists at the university were able to develop a unique drug similar to the one used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease and reduce blood coagulation. The new drug also helps to remove the blood clot (amyloid plaques) in the brain, which is considered as one of the main hypotheses of Alzheimer's causes," a university's statement said.
Animal testing and cell structures experiment showed that the amyloid levels go down after the use of the new drug, which can help Alzheimer's patients make a full recovery.
It is noteworthy that Alzheimer's, which was discovered in 1907 by German neuropathologist Alois Alzheimer, is a brain disease that causes memory loss and cognitive impairment.
