Thursday 13 Nov 2014 - 14:36 Makkah mean time-20-1-1436 Rabat (IINA) – The Ministerial Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in charge of the action plan for Al Quds Asharif and Palestine has announced the setting up of an action group tasked with acting internationally to defend this cause in line with a well-defined action plan.
"We agreed to set up one working group which will lead to the creation of three groups each with a specific mission as part of actions to be carried out internationally, mainly with the superpowers," Moroccan Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezouar told reporters here on Wednesday.
Also present were OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani and the Jordanian and Palestinian foreign ministers, Nasser Jouda and Riad Al Maliki respectively.
“The action group, based on international systems of reference, will be launched in mid-December with the aim of making the OIC's voice heard by influential powers, putting an end to the Israeli assaults and practices in the Palestinian territories, ensuring respect for international law and securing rights of Palestinian people,” Mezouar said.
He added that the proposed measures and actions will support the creation of a conducive climate for serious talks to reach a two-state solution to the Palestine issue.
