Manama, (IINA) - Bahraini Deputy Ombudsman Osama Ahmed Al-Asfoor on Sunday met a delegation comprising several U.S. Congress staff currently visiting the Kingdom, BNA reported.
During the meeting, Deputy Ombudsman familiarized the U.S. delegation about the Ombudsman's duties of receiving complaints, monitoring detention and reformatory centers to boost the values of human rights and humane treatment on the part of Interior Ministry personnel to the public.
Ghada Hameed Habib, director of International Cooperation Directorate, held talks with the delegation focused on international cooperation activities of the Ombudsman Office under various themes including training and exchange of expertise as well as international participation in addition to relations with the relevant international institutions and organisations in what serves their legal mission and function in the community.
