Lebanese army forces

Beirut, (IINA) - Lebanese Army forces said on Tuesday that its forces arrested two “terrorists,” including an ISIS suspect accused of beheading two soldiers last year, Lebanese Daily Star reported.

A statement said cousins Omar and Bilal Mikati, both from the northern city of Tripoli, belonged to a terrorist organization and were involved in attacks against the Lebanese Army and other terrorist operations.

Omar Mikati, known by his nom du guerre Abu Hureira, is believed to have been behind the beheading of Lebanese soldiers Ali al-Sayyed and Abbas Medlej during their captivity by ISIS militants on the outskirts of Arsal in August last year.

Sayyed was the first of four captives to be killed by ISIS and the Nusra Front, while Medlej was the second. Twenty-five servicemen are still being held hostage by the extremist groups on the border with Syria.
