MWL invites Rohingya leaders to attend anti-terrorism conference

Makkah (IINA) – The Muslim World League (MWL) has extended special invitations to leaders of Rohingya Muslim minority to participate in the anti-terrorism conference to be hosted by the MWL on February 22-25 at its headquarters in Makkah.

The conference aims at explaining the concept of terrorism from Islamic and international perspectives, in addition to discussing the issue of using religion as an umbrella for terrorism, and the religious, economic, cultural, media and educational reasons associated with terrorism and its effects at the regional and international levels.

Leaders of the Rohingya minority have welcomed the initiative, calling it an important move that will provide the opportunity to raise the issue of terrorism being exercised by Myanmar government against the Rohingya Muslims in Arakan State, in addition to the persecution they suffer at the hands of the radical Buddhists with the support of the government, Arakan news agency reported.

Those who received special invitations from the MWL to attend the conference and present a paper on the issues affecting Rohingya minority include: Director General of Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU) Dr. Wakar Uddin, Sheikh of the Rohingya community in Saudi Arabia Abdul Majid Al-Arakani, President of the Global Rohingya Centre (GRC) Abdullah Maroof and supervisor of Jalia al Burmawiya (Burmese community) Ayoub Mushrif.
