Jakarta, (IINA) - Indonesian President Joko Widodo held bilateral meeting with Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj on the sidelines of the 5th Extraordinary OIC Summit in Jakarta where they agreed to enhance cooperation in a number of fields, including energy, construction and housing.
Government data showed that several Indonesian state-owned enterprises and private companies have been operating in Libya. However, their operations have been discontinued shortly after the civil war started in the country.
"The operations will be resumed once the situation in Libya is conducive", President Widodo said, adding that the Libyan Prime Minister noted that his country is eager to embark on cooperation with Indonesia.
President Widodo added that the Libyan Prime Minister expressed his country’s intention to learn about democracy from Indonesia's experiences.
On that occasion, President Jokowi said that Indonesia had held a number of elections such as presidential, gubernatorial, regional/mayoral elections.
President Widodo also sent his congratulations to his Libyan counterpart on the establishment of the new unity government.
