Jakarta, (IINA) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that the 5th Extraordinary OIC Summit has shown the Islamic world's efforts to continue to resist Israeli occupation.
"The Islamic world does not leave the Palestinians alone to defend Al-Quds Al-Sharif", said Mahmoud Abbas at the Jakarta Convention Center, using the Arabic name for Jerusalem.
According to Abbas, Israeli aggression against the territory of East Jerusalem had changed the historical identity, including Al-Aqsa Mosque and other historic sites including churches.
"This Summit serves as to voice the protection of Al-Quds Al-Sharif", said Abbas. The 5th Extraordinary OIC Summit has been successfully convened in the framework of supporting the Palestinian cause, he added.
"Al-Quds Al-Sharif is the heart of a Palestine, and there is no Palestine without Jerusalem", he said.
Mahmoud stated that Palestine expressed its gratitude to the support of the international community and the Islamic world in achieving its independence.
"We will continue working to save Al-Quds Al-Sharif and against all forms of aggression", he concluded.
