Egypt’s Al-Azhar condemns terrorist attacks in Brussels

Cairo (IINA) – Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Egypt's renowned Islamic institution, strongly condemned the series of terrorist attacks that took place in the Belgian capital Brussels on Tuesday, which resulted in scores of deaths and injuries.
"These heinous crimes violate the tolerant teachings of Islam and all the divine laws and human norms,” the Cairo-based body said in a statement.  
Al-Azhar urged the international community to confront the "epidemic" of terrorism," saying, "if the international community does not unite to confront this epidemic, the corrupt will not stop from committing heinous crimes against the innocent."
"While strongly deploring these vicious attacks, Al-Azhar Al-sharif conveys its sincere condolences to the government and people of Belgium and the families of the victims, wishing speedy recovery to the injured," the statement said.
