Muscat, (IINA) - At least 18 people were killed and 16 others sustained injuries in central Oman on Tuesday when a bus collided with a truck. ABC reported.
Of the 18 deceased people, 13 have been identified - six were from Oman, four from Saudi Arabia, two from Pakistan and one from Yemen.
The injured passengers included 11 from Oman, two from Saudi Arabia, one each from China and Pakistan, and another unidentified person, and they were shifted to hospitals.
Oman police spokesman Mohammed bin Salama Al-Hashimi said that the incident took place around 1 am on a roundabout near the Nahdah area.
Police from Muscat as well as Petroleum Development of Oman workers carried out rescue operations after the incident.
The initial investigation suggests that the bus had a head-on collision with the truck and a car crashed into them later, Oman police said.
