Yemen's government ready to engage in serious dialogue with rebels: FM

Yemeni FM Al-Mekhlafi meets with UAE Ambassador Al-Ghafli

Riyadh (IINA) – Yemen's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdulmalik Al-Mekhlafi stressed that the Yemeni legitimate authorities are keen on having serious UN-sponsored dialogue with the rebels that would lead to ending the coup and the suffering of civilians, Yemen News Agency reported.
He sais this here on Monday during a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Yemen Salem Khalifa Al-Ghafli.
Al-Mekhlafi said the government is keen to end the suffering of the Yemeni people and agree on any meaningful dialogue that would lead to ending the coup and the suffering of civilians, in accordance with the Gulf Initiative and its Executive Mechanisms as well as the outcome of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and the UN Security Council Resolution 2216 (2015).
He praised the UAE's support for the Yemeni legitimate government and its stand by the people of Yemen in the current circumstances.
For his part, the UAE ambassador confirmed his country's firm position to stand by Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy as well as to the provision of support and assistance to the Yemeni people to overcome the current difficulties.
