Khartoum (IINA) – Sudan and South Sudan confirmed their determination to go ahead with implementing the joint cooperation agreements they previously signed, and work together for solving all problems through continuous dialogue and negotiations, SUNA reported.
Following the talks with his South Sudanese counterpart Barnaba Benjamin in Khartoum on Sunday, Sudan's Foreign Minister Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour said that his country is keen to bringing about peace in its southern neighbor. He noted that the visit by Foreign Minister Benjamin to Sudan confirms the depth and firmness of relations binding the two countries and peoples.
Both sides agreed to work jointly to solve all outstanding issues between their countries in accordance with the directives of the two nations' leaders, Ghandour said.
He added that Benjamin will meet during his current visit to Khartoum with a number of officials in the education field to follow up issues of South Sudan nationals in Sudan.
For his part, South Sudan's Foreign Minister Benjamin described his talks with Ghandour as successful, considering it as a step forward to consolidating fraternal relations. He said that South Sudan looks forward for the continuity of the dialogue between the two countries on the basis of the Joint Cooperation Agreement which was signed by Presidents Omar Al-Bashir and Salva Kiir.
