OIC chief, Bangladeshi FM discuss measures to ease Rohingya suffering

Jeddah (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani received here on Thursday Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, who was on a visit to Saudi Arabia.
The two sides discussed during the meeting a number of issues of mutual interest, including the challenges facing the OIC member states.
They also highlighted the plight of the Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar and the measures to be taken to help alleviate their suffering.
The Secretary General briefed the minister on the OIC’s priorities and the forthcoming summits and conferences. He reaffirmed the OIC’s interest to continue its engagement with Bangladesh on issues likely to enhance socio-economic development and political stability in Bangladesh and across the Muslim world.
