Kuwait City, (IINA) - Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has resumed its phased campaign to relieve impoverished Syrians who have taken up refuge in Lebanese rural regions, Kuwait News Agency reported.
Menhel Al-Enezi, a member of the society’s field team, said that the latest mission that was carried out by teams and volunteers of the Kuwaiti philanthropic association was in the town of Dahr Al-Ahmar, Rachaya, southeastern Lebanon.
He said that the Syrian families there were given 300 parcels of detergents and bedclothes, noting that the refugees are currently in dire need of such aid due to the hard winter conditions.
Over the weekend, the team delivered food and other necessities to Syrian refugees in Iqlim Al-Kharroub, a mountainous region located southeast of the Lebanese capital. They also provided similar materials, along with sweets and toys, to refugees and their children in Shebaa, a town in southeastern Lebanon.
He reaffirmed Kuwait's keenness to help the refugees despite recurring rain and snow, and the biting cold. KRCS officials have vowed to do everything possible to help the refugees no matter how hard the weather conditions may be.
It is noteworthy that the KRCS celebrated its golden jubilee on Sunday, and it boasted a long record of relief and humanitarian missions worldwide.
