Ankara, (IINA) - French Defense Minister Jean Yves Le Drian praised on Tuesday the cooperation with Turkey in tackling foreign extremists heading to Syria, Anadolu Agency reported citing a Turkish diplomat.
Le Drian met Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to discuss Syria, Libya and other bilateral issues. The visit came as France remains on high alert following the November 13 attacks in Paris that killed 130. Some of the attackers had previously spent time in Syria with ISIS before returning to Europe.
The source said they shared similar concerns about regional security threats. The ministers also discussed the rising tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
