Azerbaijani chess player tops Australian Championship 2016

Melbourne, (IINA) - Azerbaijani chess player Kanan Izzat currently shares the leadership at the 2016 Australian Chess Championship in Melbourne together with Australian Bobby Cheng, Azerbaijan State News Agency reported.
The 2016 Australian Chess Championships are presented by the Melbourne Chess Club, which has celebrated 150 Years, and is officially supported by the City of Yarra.
Izzat has won six rounds, tied in two, and lost one match against Australian Karl Zelesco.
The 11 round Swiss event features a $14,000 prize fund and brings together 34 chess players. The Championship is expected to end on Tuesday.
