Azerbaijan records GDP increase, raises salaries

Baku, (IINA) - Azerbaijan has recorded an increase of 5.7 percent in its GDP (gross domestic product) in 2015 with a total of 41.7 billion manats ($26.3 billion), Azerbaijan State News Agency reported.
According to the agency, the country’s per capita income has increased by 4.5 percent.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed executive orders to raise salaries of employees of several budget-funded government bodies.
Under the presidential orders, employees of scientific and research bodies, institutes and organizations, culture, youth and sports, health, social welfare, education institutions will see their monthly wages rise by an average of 10 percent starting February 1, 2016.
