London (IINA) – The United Kingdom has detained the first Israeli military officer, who fought in last summer's aggression on the Gaza Strip, when he arrived in Britain.
Hebrew press sources confirmed that the soldier was released following investigations with him, referring to the possibility of repeating the same thing with many of the Israeli military officers and soldiers who fought in the 50-day war, and their details or photos were posted online.
Hebrew daily newspaper "Yediot Ahronot" reported Saturday evening that thousands of soldiers and officers who fought in the military operation, called "Operation Protective Edge," could face the same fate of the officer, whose name or military rank was not mentioned, saying only that he was a reserve officer detained for questioning a few weeks ago upon his arrival in Britain, due to a complaint filed against him by a pro-Palestinian organizations.
The basic accusation against the Israeli soldiers and officers, who participated in the "Operation Protective Edge" is their involvement in committing war crimes, according to the newspaper.
