Saudi Fund for Development signs 3 agreements to finance projects in Jordan

Amman (IINA) – The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) signed here on Monday three agreements to finance projects in Jordan, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
These include a grant agreement of $65 million to finance the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the desert road (R15); a framework agreement to grant $100 million as contribution by Saudi Arabia to support priority development projects in the Jordanian communities hosting Syrian refugees; and a soft loan guarantee agreement worth $53.3 million to finance the fourth steam-unit project in Samra electric power plant, located in Zarqa about 35 kilometers north of the Jordanian capital Amman.
The first two agreements were signed by SFD Vice Chairman & Managing Director Eng. Yousef Ibrahim Al-Bassam and Jordanian Minister of Planning Imad Fakhoury. Whilst, the third one was signed by Eng. Al-Bassam and Jordanian Finance Minister Omar Malhas.
The total grants and loans provided by Saudi Arabia to Jordan amounted to 6.98 billion riyals.
