The Hague (IINA) – Unidentified suspects attempted Saturday night to set fire to a mosque in the southern Dutch city of Roosendaal, in the province of North Brabant, frequented by Moroccans living in the area.
Dutch police said in a statement on Saturday that the attempted arson attack caused damage to the mosque, affirming that full investigation is underway in earnest to reveal the identity of the perpetrators.
The statement called for witnesses or persons who have information to report the incident at police stations. It also explained that the targeted mosque, which was established last year, is the largest mosque in the area.
It may be mentioned here that eight people were fined by a Dutch court last month for calling through the Internet to carry out acts of violence and arson attacks against the mosques in the Netherlands.
