Sri Nagar, (IINA) - Condemning the attacks in Paris, Syed Ali Geelani who is a separatist leader and Hurriyat Chairman from the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir, noted on Saturday that Islam doesn’t teach violence, Greater Kashmir online news reported.
“Attack in Paris is nothing to do with Islam. Giving it Islamic colour is a well planned conspiracy to defame Islam. We condemn such acts of violence in strong terms,” Geelani told Greater Kashmir.
“Islam doesn’t permit attack on innocents. Some elements are hell-bent to interpret Islam in their own way. I appeal Muslims across the world to rise to the occasion to defeat such forces.”
For his part, Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammed Yasin Malik, strongly condemned the incident, noting that Islam doesn’t approve such acts of violence. “The act is against the humanity and basic principles of any religion. The act amounts to exploitation of Islam. In Islam, even an unarmed enemy is not allowed to be killed. Using the name of a particular religion to justify acts of terror is highly condemnable,” he said.
Expressing shock over the killings, he said that terror, aggression or political violence at any place and in any form is condemnable.
“The killing of one innocent person is equivalent to the killing of entire humanity,” spokesman of the amalgam said.
“It is the responsibility of the international community to take note and stop the killings of innocent people where ever it takes place, be it Paris, Beirut, Baghdad or Kashmir.”
Senior separatist leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that such attacks on unarmed people are illogical and acts of cowardice. “No religion allows killing of unarmed civilians,” he added.
