UN General Assembly urges Moscow conference on Palestine

New York (IINA) – The UN General Assembly urged on Tuesday the resumption of negotiations to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and came out in favor of an international conference to be held in Moscow to contribute to the Middle East peace process, Russian News Agency TASS reported.
A resolution on this effect was approved by a majority of votes. The document was supported by an overwhelming majority of 155 countries with seven countries voting against and seven more abstaining. The resolution was not supported by Israel, Canada, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau and the United States.
Australia, Honduras and South Sudan were among the seven countries that abstained.
