Ngouboua, Chad (IINA) - At least three people were killed and 14 others  injured in  two suicide bombings in Ngouboua village near Lake Chad, AP reported quoting Chadian officials.
Police spokesman Paul Manga said that both explosions happened in public gathering spots in the village. The first explosion went off near a public water tap and the second near a mill.
"Among the dead were a girl and a boy. There were 14 injured, of which four are in serious condition and they were transported by helicopter to hospital in Ndjamena, capital of Chad", said local official Dimouya Souapebe. The witnesses said the two bombers were women.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but it is similar to others in the area by Nigerian Islamic extremist group Boko Haram.
It is noteworthy that Boko Haram's six-year-old uprising has left an estimated 20,000 people dead, according to Amnesty International.
