Sydney, (IINA) - One of America's leading Muslim scholars is set to deliver a keynote speech about the clash between human- and God-given rights at a Sydney conference.
Imam Zaid Shakir will lead a line-up of local, national and international Islamic leaders at the second annual Sydney Muslim Conference on Sunday.
More than 1,000 people are expected to gather at Rosehill Gardens Pavilion in Parramatta to explore the intersection of Islamic values with the modern world.
Among the contentious topics listed for discussion at the event hosted by the Lebanese Muslim Association are racism, politics and cultural divides.
The program includes debate on combating Islamophobia, navigating local politics, responding to international injustice and understanding gender identity, equality and discrimination.
