Saudi student in Britain wins two international awards

Ljubljana, (IINA) - The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology, honored a Saudi student at a recent function, held at Ljubljana, capital of Slovania, for her outstanding engineering and career achievements as well as for her support for women in profession. 
The 105th IEEE Region 8 Committee meeting held at the Grand Union Hotel in Ljubljana early October awarded the Saudi student Eman Al-Ashwali the Clementina Saduwa Award for 2015 and the “Outstanding Counsellor for IEEE Student Branch” for her work this year, University of Oxford reported.
The Clementina Saduwa Award for 2015 is one of the most prestigious awards in IEEE Region 8 (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) dedicated to women in engineering. Al-Ashwali was presented with a Plaque and $1000 prize money.
 
In addition to this, Al-Ashwali has received a second award “Outstanding Counsellor for IEEE Student Branch” which is given to only six counselors from the whole of Europe, Middle East and Africa, in recognition of her service as a Counselor for King Abdulaziz University IEEE Student Branch. Al-Ashwali received a plaque and a share of $300 for this award.
According to SPA, Acting President of King Abdulaziz University Abdulrahman Al-Yoobi congratulated Al-Ashwali on such notable wins.
