Amman, (IINA) - Secretary General of Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Ghalib Maabreh discussed with First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Rapil Zhoshybayev ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as investment opportunities in Jordan's energy sector, Petra news agency reported.
Maabreh said that Jordan is pressing ahead with renewable energy projects in parallel with the nuclear program within the national strategy that aims at diversifying energy resources.
He also encouraged Kazakh companies to benefit from investment opportunities in the Kingdom depending on the Kazakh expertise in exploiting natural resources.
During the meeting, the secretary general stressed the importance of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost cooperation in the energy field in the interest of both countries.
The Kazakh official said his country is keen to enhance cooperation with Jordan through benefiting from opportunities available in the energy and investment fields.
He also invited the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as well as Jordanian companies to take part in EXPO 2017, which will be held in the Kazakh capital Astana.
