Pak president urges Muslims to defeat propaganda against Islam

Islamabad, (IINA) - Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain said on Monday that Muslims around the world should work with unity and mutual harmony to counter propaganda against Islam and Muslims, Daily Times online news reported.
During a reception to Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary General Dr Abdullah Al-Turki here on Monday, the president said that there can be differences of opinion in Islam but no one was allowed to impose one’s views on others. He noted that the MWL can play a positive role to create harmony amongst the Muslims round the world.
He said that 60,000 Pakistanis had been martyred due to terrorism in Pakistan. He emphasized that the country was working earnestly to eliminate this scourge.The president underscored that there was a need to adopt other means as well along with force to end terrorism so that people were stopped from getting inclined toward extremism.
He said that Muslim countries should enhance mutual cooperation in the fields of trade, education and particularly in science and technology so that attainment of progress and prosperity in the Muslim world could be possible.
On his part, Dr Al-Turki said that the MWL was endeavoring to end extremism and ignorance from Muslim world. 
It is noteworthy that Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf and Minister of State for Religious Affairs Pir Mohammad Amin-ul-Hasnat were also present on the occasion.
