Muscat (IINA) – Oman’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah said that the Sultanate is making diplomatic efforts to address the situation in Syria and Yemen and reach peaceful and diplomatic solutions, as a basic pillar of the Omani foreign policy outlined by Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the minister added that there are common grounds between the Sultanate of Oman and Saudi Arabia with regard to the existing conflict in the region. He pointed out that the two brotherly countries agreed to focus on the future.
With respect to the Omani Embassy premises in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a, Bin Alawi said the Sultanate is keen on ensuring compliance with international law.
He underlined that his recent visit to Syria was important for brothers in Saudi Arabia as it provides an opportunity for them to listen to the viewpoint of the Sultanate with regard to what it has heard from the Syrian government.
