Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers endorses appointment of Consultative Council members

Muscat (IINA) – The 9th Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers, currently being held in the Omani capital of Muscat, has endorsed the appointment of members of the Consultative Council in charge of implementing the cultural strategy for the Islamic world for a two-year term.
The Council consists of the following representatives of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC): Kuwait, Palestine, Mauritania, Mali, Guinea, Nigeria, Indonesia, Azerbaijan and Bangladesh, in addition to the ex-officio members, namely Oman, chair of the 9th Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers; Saudi Arabia, host country of the OIC; Morocco, host country of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO); Senegal, president of the OIC Standing Committee for Information and Cultural Affairs (COMIAC); the OIC General Secretariat, and ISESCO which carries out the functions of the Secretariat of the Council.
The Conference also invited the member states to appoint their representatives in the Council.
