Cairo (IINA) – Yemen's Human Rights Minister Izz al-Din Asbahi commended the relief and humanitarian efforts exerted by Qatar for the sake of the Yemeni people as well as its endeavors to provide humanitarian support to them and alleviate their suffering.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of the seminar organized here on Monday by the Arab Human Rights Committee to present its report on violations committed by the Houthis in Yemen, Asbahi said Qatar contributed significantly to the humanitarian field during the last period in Yemen. He also lauded the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries.
Meanwhile, the Arab League renewed its support for the legitimate government in Yemen under the leadership of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and expressed its continuous quest in coordination with UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed and other parties concerned in order to reach a political solution to end the crisis in accordance with the provisions of UN Security Council resolution 2216 and the Gulf initiative and the outcome of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference.
Secretary General of the Arab League Dr Nabil Elaraby discussed with Yemeni Human Rights Minister the developments in Yemen, particularly the tragic humanitarian situation undergone by the Yemeni people as a result of the continued violations and crimes committed by the Houthi militias and ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
