UNESCO hails Sultan of Oman for efforts to meet environmental challenges

Paris, (IINA) - Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova hailed the Sultan of Oman Qaboos Al-Said for his efforts and leading role on the ongoing great challenges facing humanity in a number of fields as well as his envision of such challenges, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
This came on the sidelines of unveiling the winners of UNESCO's Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Preservation 2015.
Bokova told to ONA that UNESCO's Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environment Preservation puts hope and sheds light on the prominent achievements and efforts at the international level in order to preserve and manage environment amid an international context of desertification, air pollution, global warming and retreat of bio-diversity.
