Riyadh (IINA) – The United Nations announced a date for the start of a new round of consultations in Geneva between the Yemeni government on one side and the Houthi rebels and the party of ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the other.
UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed said in a post on his Facebook page that "a glimmer of hope for the situation in Yemen looms as efforts culminated in convincing all Yemeni parties to take part in a new UN-brokered round of talks in Geneva at the end of this month.
He added that while the UN expresses gratitude to all parties concerned in Yemen, it calls for further flexibility, as future prospects may not be favorable.
It is noteworthy that Yemen's government on Sunday announced its agreement to conducting negotiations with the Houthi militias and the General People's Congress Party headed by deposed President Saleh.
