Beirut, (IINA) - The UAE embassy in Beirut supervised on Thursday the delivery of more than 60 scholarships to Syrian refugee boy and girl students in Lebanon, WAM reported.
The scholarships were presented by officials of Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation in the presence of a representative from the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs.
UAE's Ambassador to Lebanon Hamad Al-Shamsi said that the scholarships were given for two years and that this initiative aims to provide the young generation with the necessary knowledge and qualifying opportunities that would enable them to serve their community in the future. He added that the UAE attaches paramount importance to this project as part of its efforts to ease the suffering of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon and support them at this difficult time.
