Muscat, (IINA) - Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has signed 18 agreements with various NGOs on Sunday. Under the agreements, PDO will fund the activities of those NGOs during the next 15 months, provided that the organizations provide a list of activities that they intend to do, together with cost details, ONA reported.
The Minister of Social Development Mohammad Al-Kalbani attended the signing ceremony. He said that such an initiative by PDO is a motive for other companies operating in the Sultanate of Oman to make more efforts and work regarding the social responsibility sector.
He added in a press statement that the Ministry of Social Development oversees the NGOs through assessing the projects undertaken by those NGOs, adding that the ministry is seeking to improve the community work and support workers in this field.
