Amman, (IINA) - Jordanian Interior Minister Salamah Hammad said that the "historic" ties between Jordan and Saudi Arabia will remain a key guarantor to safeguard the two countries' interests in "all times and circumstances", Petra reported.
During his meeting with Saudi Ambassador Sami al-Saleh on Sunday, the minister also noted that the relations between the two kingdoms are characterized by common understanding of various challenges and issues of mutual interest.
The conditions in the region, he said, required solidarity and close coordination when common Arab action is non-existent in order to preserve regional stability and overcome obstacles that might arise.
Hammad also commended the Saudi support for Jordan at the various regional and international forums.
For his part, the envoy said Riyadh is keen on developing ties with Jordan, indicating that both countries see eye to eye on various regional issues.
