Kuwait City, (IINA) - Saudi Minister of Health Khalid Al-Faleh lauded on Monday Kuwait for hosting the 62nd meeting of the Regional Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO), SPA reported.
Al-Faleh, who heads the Saudi delegation to the meeting, stressed in a press statement the keenness of Saudi Arabia to actively participate in these annual meetings of the WHO.
The Organization's Director General Margaret Chan and the Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Ala Alwan are attending the meeting.
The Saudi minister said that the Kingdom has become pioneering in the fight against non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer and hypertension, noting that many countries in the region benefit from Saudi Arabia's experience.
