OIC: Raising Palestinian flag at UN is major step for independent state

Friday 02 Oct 2015 - 13:52 Makkah mean time-19-12-1436 New York, (IINA) - The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani said on Thursday that raising the Palestinian flag at the UN, despite its symbolism, is an important step on the road to register the legal status of Palestine among members of the international community, SPA reported. He made the remarks while attending the ceremony of raising the Palestinian flag at the UN headquarters in New York. The Secretary General expressed his happiness and congratulated the Palestinian people and its leadership on this achievement, hoping that the Palestinian people will soon be able to fly their flag over the minarets of Al Aqsa Mosque and its walls in their independent state.
