OIC chief Iyad Madani
Jeddah (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan for the successful parliamentary elections, held on October 4.
A statement by the General Secretariat said that the OIC observers monitored the election process in Bishkek and neighboring towns and observed, with satisfaction, that the electoral process was conducted in a transparent, democratic and professional manner, in conformity with Kyrgyz election laws as well as the internationally accepted norms.
Madani commended the great sense of maturity and responsibility displayed by the people of Kyrgyzstan through this election to stand along with the principles of democracy, rule of law, transparency and good governance. He also expressed his confidence that the success of the parliamentary election would further contribute to strengthening the democratic practices and institutions for the development and prosperity of the country and its people.
