Tulkarem (IINA) - Israeli forces raided on Sunday the campus of Palestine Technical University, west of Tulkarem city, and shot tear gas canisters towards students which resulted in dozens of suffocation cases among the youth, WAFA reported citing the university's PR department.
The department noted that this is the second time a large military force infiltrated the university’s campus within two weeks. It pointed out that suffocation cases among the students are due to tear gas inhalation and that some of the severe suffocation cases were not treatable at the scene.
The department said that tension is running high at the college due to Israeli forces’ continuous attempts to take over part of the campus for the benefit of expanding a nearby Israeli military training camp.
In a related context, Israeli forces clashed with Palestinian demonstrators near Jeicora's factories west of Tulkarem, the Palestinians were there to protest against Israel's continuous attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attempts of dividing it between Muslims and Jews.
