IIRO distributes humanitarian aid worth over SR100 million among Syrian refugees

Jeddah (IINA) – The International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO), an affiliate of the Muslim World League (MWL), has spent as many as SR 101,360,256 (about $27 million), over the past years since the beginning of the crisis in Syria to help Syrian refugees in countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Turkey.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), IIRO Secretary General Ihsan bin Saleh Tayyib said that the aid comprises establishment of many refugee camps and shelters, provision of food items, blankets, drinking water and iftar meals during the months of Ramadan, as well as the provision of sacrificial animals during Eid al-Adha of each year and the distribution of cash aid, gifts and games to the kids.
He pointed out that the size of this assistance is one of the largest humanitarian aid provided by a civic organization in the Arab and Muslim world.
