Islamabad, (IINA) - Pakistan has formally asked the United Nations to investigate the Indian attacks on its eastern borders. The request came during a meeting between Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ms. Maliha Lodhi with the Deputy Secretary General of the UN Jan Eliasson.
Islamabad issued a statement on Saturday saying that Pakistan's Ambassador briefed the UN official on the recent violations committed by the Indian troops on the Pakistani border and their attacks on populated areas, noting that the attacks resulted in killing and wounding a number of Pakistani citizens.
The statement added that the Pakistani ambassador sent a memorandum to the President of the UN Security Council asking him to stop India’s violation of the cease-fire agreement signed between the two countries.
