Israeli forces storm Al-Aqsa Mosque, attack faithful for the third consecutive day

Jerusalem, (INA) - Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday have stormed Al-Aqsa compound and damaged the doors of the southern Mosque. This was for the third day in a row Israel has been launching raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque, WAFA reported.
According to WAFA, Israeli occupation forces have stormed the compound via Al-Maghariba Gate and assaulted Palestinian worshippers, fired stun grenades, tear gas canisters and rubber-coated steel bullets at them.
Israeli occupation forces were deployed across the compound at early morning, before advancing towards the southern Mosque, known as al-Qibili.
The forces then proceeded to storm al-Qibili Mosque, damaging its doors, in order to detain Palestinian worshippers barricading themselves inside.
Palestinian media reported on witnesses as saying that during the ensuing clashes with Palestinian worshippers, occupation forces entered the site.
Witnesses also reported that heavily-armed forces “tread on the carpets with their military boots until they reached the Saladin’s Minbar”.
During their attempt to storm the Mosque, occupation forces fired stun grenades, sparking fire in its vicinity and partly burning praying carpets inside the Mosque. Firefighters were able to put it out. Occupation forces also wreaked havoc inside the Mosque, destroying several historical glass windows.
This prompted officials from the Jordan-run Islamic Wqaf (Endowments) Department to denounce Israeli forces storming of the Mosque as “unprecedented”. Meanwhile, all Palestinians are being denied entry into the mosque compound by Israeli forces stationed at the gates, which is causing tensions to escalate.
