OIC chief Iyad Madani
Jeddah (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani received here on Monday Ambassador of Mali to Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the OIC Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Lebbat, who came to bid farewell upon completion of his diplomatic mission.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the two sides to review the situation in the Republic of Mali and emphasize the need to find solutions to the current crisis in the country.
The Malian ambassador commended OIC’s positive position on the issue of Mali and reiterated his country’s gratitude to the OIC for the efforts it exerts in this regard. He also renewed Mali’s commitment to the programs and activities of the OIC and expressed his willingness to continue efforts from his new position to further promote relations between OIC and Mali.
For his part, the Secretary General commended the ambassador for his constant efforts and active participation in the meetings and activities of the OIC and for his invaluable contributions in the consolidation of ties with the Organization. Madani also wished him success in his new position.
