Ramallah, (IINA) - The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Committee said that Israel's military prosecution appealed on Tuesday a court’s decision to release on bail a young detainee Essa Abdel Mutee in light of his deteriorating health condition, WAFA reported.
Essa Abdel Mutee is a 13-year-old Palestinian prisoner who was shot by Israeli forces on September 18 and he is at risk of undergoing a limb amputation surgery due to the injury.
Amer Yasin, an attorney with Palestinian Peace Coalition, said that the boy has recently seen a significant deterioration in his health condition, and might lose his right leg which was injured when Israeli forces shot two live bullets at him prior to his detention.
Essa sustained an arterial rupture in his right leg after he was shot. He underwent two surgeries so far, and his doctors say that they need to surgically remove his leg.
