Aden (IINA) – A human rights delegation from the Arab League concluded a visit on Monday to the governorate of Aden, in southern Yemen, where it met with a number of representatives of official authorities, civil and human rights bodies, as well as victims of war and prisoners.
Yemen News Agency reported that the Arab delegation was briefed on the extent of damage and losses inflicted in the governorate of Aden due to the war launched by the Houthi and Saleh militias against the civilian population following their coup several months ago.
Members of the delegation emphasized that they had prepared a comprehensive report on the abuses against the civilians and the extent of casualties they suffered. They said the report also contained the magnitude of suffering and tragedy that affected the victims in hospitals, noting that most of them need treatment outside Yemen.
Head of the delegation justice Asaad Younis told a press conference that they were briefed on the practices which are contrary to international customary laws and norms, indicating that they will submit their report to the Arab League.
