Makkah, (IINA) - The Saudi Project for the Utilization of Hajj Meat (Adahi), managed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), has reported on Saturday that it has sold 820,000 Adahi coupons so far. It also said the project has already utilized about 736,000 heads of cattle and sheep from the purchases made by pilgrims during this Hajj.
A total of 27,330 portions of sheep meat and 173 heads of cows have been distributed to the poor and needy in the holy city of Makkah.
The President IDB Dr. Ahmad Mohammad Ali expressed his deepest appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince for their efforts in supporting the bank and its entities, as well as the Saudi Project for the Utilisation of Hajj Meat.
Earlier this week, IDB President issued a statement where he said that the Adahi project is part of "a civilized approach to humanitarian service to the nation. Many poor people, as well as charities working to support the poor within Saudi Arabia and outside, in addition to refugees and the needy people in 24 countries will be benefited from the project".
He asked Allah Almighty to bless the sacrifices made, and prayed that Allah Almighty rewards the good deeds of people participating in the project.
