Rabat, (IINA) - The United Arab Emirates and Morocco strongly condemned the "ugly terrorist crime" that killed several people in a mosque in the Asir province of Saudi Arabia on Thursday, according to media reports.
UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed said in a statement that he condemned in the strongest possible words "the ugly terrorist crime which targeted members of the special emergency services in the Asir province when they were praying as a group in their mosque."
He added, "The UAE expresses its complete and utter solidarity with brotherly Saudi Arabia in confronting terrorism in all its forms."
He also noted, "the UAE stands shoulder to shoulder with the Saudi leadership in whatever draconian steps or measures they may take to eradicate terrorism and to preserve the Kingdom, its stability and security, which is the cornerstone of the security and stability of the region.”
Meanwhile, Moroccan foreign affairs ministry said in a statement, “Morocco flatly condemns the appalling and cowardly attack committed on Thursday against believers in a mosque of the Saudi special forces’ headquarters in the city of Abha, killing over 14 members of the security forces which fulfill one of the most important human missions in the country.”
While offering its heartfelt condolences to the sister nation of Saudi Arabia and the victims’ families, Morocco reiterates its full solidarity with this country, reaffirms permanent commitment by its side in fighting all acts and attempts threatening its security and stability and denounces this terrorist crime targeting peace and the Islamic religion, it said.
